Terms
Short version: the box is yours, the software is rented.
You buy the box once and keep it. The LLUMIVIA software and trivia content on it are licensed to you for as long as your subscription is paid. Stop paying or cancel, and trivia stops. Effective October 4, 2026.
Who these terms are between
These terms apply to every LLUMIVIA subscription. “We” means LLUMINET LLC, which operates LLUMIVIA; “you” means the venue or business that signs up. By completing checkout you agree to them. Ad bookings have their own advertiser terms.
What you get
A LLUMIVIA box that plugs into your TV, the LLUMIVIA software that runs on it, trivia questions and other show content, weekly content updates, software updates, the staff console and your owner page. Which features you get depends on your plan.
The box is yours
You pay for the box once, at signup, and it belongs to you. You don’t have to send it back if you cancel. You can keep using it, sell it, or wipe it and use it for something else entirely.
The software is licensed, not sold
The LLUMIVIA software, the trivia questions and the rest of the content on the box are not part of what you buy. We license them to you, for use at your venue, only while your subscription is active. We own them (or license them from others), and every right we don’t expressly give you here stays with us.
Price, trial and payment
You pay the plan price shown at checkout each month, by card, through Stripe, plus any tax. Your first 30 days are free, counted from the night trivia goes live at your bar and ending no later than 60 days after signup. Prices may change; we’ll email you before a new price applies, and you can cancel before it does.
Cancelling
Plans are month-to-month. Cancel anytime from your owner page with Manage billing. Your subscription runs to the end of the month you’ve paid for, and then it ends. Payments already made are not refunded.
When the subscription ends or isn’t paid
If you cancel, or a payment fails and isn’t made up after our retries, the LLUMIVIA software on the box stops running trivia, and software updates and new content stop. We don’t remotely wipe the box or touch anything else on it. If you resubscribe, or pay what’s owed, trivia comes back.
What you can’t do
Don’t reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the LLUMIVIA software, or try to get around the checks that tie it to a paid subscription. Don’t copy the software or content off the box, extract the question bank, or share, sell or reuse any of it elsewhere. Don’t run LLUMIVIA software on a device we didn’t license it for. The law sometimes allows some of these things whatever a contract says; this doesn’t take those rights away.
Re-imaging the box
You may erase the box and install other software on it for any other use. Doing that removes the LLUMIVIA software and content, and ends your license to them on that box. If you want trivia back on it later, contact us and we’ll set it up again with an active subscription.
Your venue and your players
You’re responsible for how LLUMIVIA is used at your venue, including the slides, promos and sponsor ads you put on screen and any prizes you offer. Our privacy policy explains what the game collects from players.
Responsibility
The service is provided as is. We work to keep it running, but we don’t promise it will never be interrupted. To the extent the law allows, our total responsibility for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the three months before it, and neither side is responsible for indirect or lost-profit damages.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms. We’ll post the new version here with its effective date and email you about significant changes; continuing your subscription after that means you accept them. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington. Questions? [email protected].
