How it works
The whole setup story fits in 90 seconds. Because that's how long it takes.
LLUMIVIA was designed around one promise: plug in → it plays. No installer, no venue laptop, no host to schedule, no software to learn. Here's how a LLUMIVIA night runs, from the box arriving to your busiest Tuesday ever. We're in early access now — this page describes the launch product our founding venues are getting first.
Day one
From box to playing trivia in under a minute
Plug in HDMI + power
The box arrives already bound to your venue — your name, your logo, your schedule. First boot goes straight to a live trivia loop in under 60 seconds. There is no setup screen. There never is.
Connect it (or don't)
Ethernet? It's online instantly. WiFi? A QR on the TV lets any staff phone enter credentials in seconds. No network at all? Weeks of content ship pre-loaded — it plays offline and syncs when connectivity appears.
Walk away
That's the whole install. Power cuts, internet outages, someone switching the TV input — it always recovers to playing trivia, never to an error screen.
Every night
Two modes, one leaderboard, zero effort
Ambient mode — the 24/7 warm-up
Rolling ~20-minute mini-shows play back-to-back all day. Scoring is per-round, so a couple walking in at question four joins fairly at the next round. Lunch crowds get lighter, faster questions; late night gets harder and edgier (always PG-13). Between shows, the screen plugs your specials, your events, and your next flagship trivia night.
Show mode — the Tuesday-night anchor
Set a recurring night in the venue console and the box handles the rest: a countdown attract loop builds anticipation, then a full two-hour, seven-round show runs itself — general knowledge, picture rounds, themed rounds, speed rounds, survey rounds, and a wager finale where teams bet their points (points, never money). Winner ceremony at the end, with whatever prize you've configured — a bar tab, a gift card, bragging rights.
For your guests
- Scan → team → play in under 15 seconds. No app, no account, no friction.
- Teams form at the table. A 4-character code pulls tablemates into the same team.
- The room stays loud. Live standings after every question, "Table 4 took the lead" callouts, end-of-night podium, and season league standings that bring teams back every week.
- Cheaters lose. Answer-lock windows and speed-weighted scoring make googling a losing strategy.
For you
- A difficulty dial in the venue console — your crowd, your calibration.
- Signage that earns its screen time. Promos and specials rotate between rounds; on the Sponsor plan, local sponsors pay you for that space.
- A weekly report that answers one question: is trivia night working? Players, teams, repeat rate, trend — shipping with launch venues.
- Pause/skip from your phone if you ever want to cut in — but you never have to.
The content
Fresh questions forever — and never a repeat
Most trivia products draw from a fixed library, and your regulars eventually notice. LLUMIVIA's content engine is built as a pipeline instead: questions are drafted against a curated fact corpus, automatically fact-checked (questions that fail verification are discarded, not patched), reviewed editorially, and difficulty-calibrated from real answer data across venues.
- Designed so your venue never sees the same question twice. Every question shown at your bar is tracked and filtered out of future packs.
- Neighboring venues get different packs the same week at launch — bar-hopping regulars can't pre-game your Tuesday show at the bar across the street on Monday.
- ~20% of rotation is fresh and topical: seasonal packs, news-lite rounds, and local-flavor questions keyed to your metro.
And everything ships clean: PG-13 content, points-only wagering, skill-based prizes, and imagery that's owned or licensed — no gambling exposure, no IP landmines on your TVs.
